No. 9 North Carolina lit up the Smith Center with five 3-pointers in a six-minute second-half span to blow open a tight contest with Virginia Tech on Sunday night. Ed Davis posted 20 points and 11 rebounds in leading UNC to a 78-64 victory. Virginia Tech jumped out to an early 25-16 lead and took a 38-34 lead into halftime behind Malcolm Delaney’s 20 first-half points.
