Karen Shelton Named Field Hockey National Coach Of The Year


Following a season in which she coached UNC to its sixth NCAA field hockey championship, has been named the 2009 Division I National Coach of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. This marks the fifth time in her career and second time in the past three seasons that Shelton has been honored as the national coach of the year. (Tar Heel Blue)
