College Basketball needs another rivalry
Posted Jan 26, 2010
There is a void to be filled -- at the very least on a regional basis -- and North Carolina State can do their part by helping to restore their yearly meetings with UNC to games of national interest. And, the only way to do that is to force an end to the Hammer and Nail nature of this rivalry. Other than the four straight wins engineered by Herb Sendek over Matt Doherty -- no, it really happened, Tar Heels fans -- North Carolina State has won exactly one time since the end of the 1998 season.
