UNC outlasts N.C. State for 77-63 victory

North Carolina withstood a strong charge by N.C. State at the start of the second half last night and fought back to win 77-63, its first road victory of the season. Down 43-38 with 17:05 left, North Carolina turned to Deon Thompson and Larry Drew and got a big lift off the bench from John Henson to retake the lead. North Carolina had a 28-6 run, getting points on its last eight possessions, to take a commanding 66-49 lead.
