Former Irish pledge Giovanni Bernard picks North Carolina

Four-star running back Giovanni Bernard of St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), who recently decommitted from Notre Dame, has pledged to the Tar Heels. He also considered Oregon State. Other programs including Oklahoma, West Virginia, Maryland, Auburn, Rutgers, Boston College, Pittsburgh, UConn and Arkansas also offered the 5-foot-9, 195-pound prospect.
