Junior Tyler Hansbrough became the 10th North Carolina men’s basketball player to be named National Player of the Year when Sports Illustrated made him its choice — and cover guy — Tuesday. But to become the eighth Tar Heel to have his jersey retired, he’ll have to haul in at least one other POY honor. (Raleigh News & Observer)
