Slumping Tar Heels brace for Duke

It’s generally the most anticipated day of the year for North Carolina and Duke basketball teams — the first meeting of the season between the rivals. Yet as many North Carolina fans are in the doldrums after the past few weeks, there’s an encouraging sign from Tar Heels senior Deon Thompson. “Like Coach said, ‘How much more worse can it get?’ ” Thompson said Tuesday.
