1. Walter Davis, UNC: If a single player personifies the rivalry, it’s this star from the mid-1970s. His dramatic long jumper to force an overtime in the March 2, 1974 game at Chapel Hill is among the most celebrated shots in college history. In 11 games against the Blue Devils, Davis played a key role in 10 North Carolina wins, including a 31-point outburst in that '74 game in Carmichael Auditorium.
