Tar Heels, Wolfpack face steep climbs out of ACC basement


Following UNC’s tumble from the national rankings to the near-bottom of the ACC standings, each loss was greeted with long faces and expressions of surprise. With the Tar Heels’ downward spiral continuing, those have been replaced with grim resolve. No amount of positive talk can hide that fact that when the 11th-place Tar Heels welcome 12th-place N,C. State today, it will be a meeting of two teams that have likely already crashed out of the league race. (Burlington Times News)
