David Wear likely out for year

North Carolina freshman David Wear sat out Wednesday night's game against Florida State and will likely miss the rest of the season, according to UNC athletic officials. Associate Athletic Director Steve Kirschner announced after the game that Wear suffered an injured left hip in practice Thursday. After three days of examinations, doctors said Wear had loose bodies, likely cartilage, in his hip which caused a clicking sound when he ran. (Daily Tar Heel)
