Posted Mar 4, 2010
Unbeaten Ames might be playing its best basketball of the season. The Little Cyclones (24-0) rolled into next week’s boys’ basketball state tournament with a 97-53 substate final victory against North at the Knapp Center. “Our goal has always been the state championship,” Harrison Barnes said. “This is just another step in the process. We know that we can’t get complacent.” Barnes scored 35 points, including a 360-degree breakaway dunk just before exiting with seven minutes to play.
