Nearly half of the starting lineup Mike Fox penciled in for the series finale [at Duke] had never taken a UNC at-bat as recently as 25 days ago. Combine that with the absence of Mike Cavasinni, who missed Sunday's game with a strained rotator cuff, and it was one of the few games in recent memory when the Tar Heels had a sizable number of key players learning how to make big plays at the major college level.
