Harrison Barnes ends career at Ames with another crown

An hour before tip-off, Harrison Barnes jogged down a carpeted hallway alone, a Lil’ Wayne song ringing in his headphones. The tune after Ames won a second straight Class 4-A state boys’ basketball title: “We Are The Champions.” The Ames senior left Wells Fargo Arena after his top-ranked team beat Southeast Polk 47-37 Saturday. “I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish,” Barnes said. “Fifty-three and zero. I can’t argue with that.”
