Heels struggle to get past Rams on way to NIT final


Maybe UNC fans should start calling point guard II "Mr. Clutch." The sophomore provided late dramatics the third straight NIT game, and his key buckets Tuesday night propelled fourth-seeded UNC past second-seeded Rhode Island 68-67 in overtime at Madison Square Garden in the semifinals. With the victory, the Tar Heels advance to the NIT championship game Thursday, where they will face Dayton (7 p.m., ESPN). (Durham Herald-Sun)
