Renner makes push in QB mix for Tar Heels

As he watched his first season with North Carolina’s football team as a redshirting quarterback, Bryn Renner said one of his roles was to uplift starting quarterback T.J. Yates. Now as he’s about to wrap up spring drills, it’s awkward for Renner to face questions about his potential role for the 2010 season. He and Yates appear to be in an open competition for primary duties at quarterback.
