UNC spring has Craven County feel

Bruce Carter and Kevin Reddick attended rival high schools. In front of a sea of Carolina blue and white Saturday, the UNC linebackers challenged each other inside Kenan Stadium. Carter, a soon-to-be senior from Havelock, was preparing for his final UNC spring game. For Reddick, a former New Bern football player, it was his first. Throw in former West Craven wide receiver Erik Highsmith, and the Tar Heels had their share of Craven County flavor in the game Saturday.
