Deon Thompson named UNC MVP

Senior forward Deon Thompson received the MVP award and fifth-year senior Marcus Ginyard became the third Tar Heel to win defensive player of the year honors three times at the 2010 UNC men’s basketball awards ceremony held Wednesday evening at the Carolina Club. Thompson was Carolina’s leading scorer and second-leading rebounder, was fifth in the ACC in field goal percentage and set an NCAA career record by playing in 152 games.
