Wayne Ellington’s key 3-pointer beat the first-half buzzer and came from so deep in the corner that centimeters probably best could have measured the tight amount of space available. The third-ranked Tar Heels picked up a half-game lead atop the league by handling Wake Forest 89-73 in men’s basketball Sunday night at the Smith Center.
