Tar Heels Dispatch Elon 17-7

No. 24 North Carolina scored 11 runs over the last two innings to topple Elon 17-7 Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Mike Cavasinni notched four of the Tar Heels 18 hits as Carolina improved to 28-17 on the year. Elon's Ken Ferrer suffers the loss allowing six runs as the Phoenix drops to 30-18 this season. Colin Bates (4-2) earned the win, tossing 3.1 innings of relief and allowing just one run.
