Meaghan Francella Wins LPGA Event


, a Tar Heel All-America in 2004, won the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2010 in a six-hole playoff. Francella defeated Mariajo Uribe in a six-hole, sudden death playoff to win the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2010 on Sunday at Itanhanga Golf Club in Rio de Janeiro. Francella calmly rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on the sixth extra hole, the par-3 17th, to claim the $105,000 first-place check. (Tar Heel Blue)
