Alex Stepheson carves niche for hurting Tar Heels

Midway though the second half of North Carolina’s 92-53 blowout of visiting Virginia Tech, Alex Stepheson went up for a rebound and came down hard on his back. After a moment on the Smith Center floor, Stepheson popped back up and ran to the other end. With a team that was dealing with several injuries heading into Saturday’s game, Stepheson’s tumble didn’t concern the Tar Heels’ coaches much.
