UNC football optimism shaken with Sturdivant arrest

Those high hopes that have building throughout the summer for the UNC football team have taken a major hit with news that star linebacker Quan Sturdivant was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Sturdivant, a 6-2, 235-pound senior who is on the preseason watch list for both the Butkus and Lombardi awards as one of the nation’s top players at his position, was cited on the drug charge early Saturday morning.
