UNC coach grateful for connection to Steinbrenner

George Steinbrenner, whose daughter graduated from North Carolina in 1981, often contributed to the Tar Heels' athletic programs over the years. Most recently, he donated $1 million during the renovations to Boshamer Stadium for the Steinbrenner Family Courtyard. While Jennifer Steinbrenner was a student, the Yankees visited Boshamer to face the Tar Heels in preseason exhibitions three times.
