Now that Alabama is investigating whether defensive lineman Marcel Dareus broke NCAA rules by attending an agent's party in South Beach earlier this summer, the bigger picture should be clear to everybody. The NCAA, after 25 years of inadequately monitoring agent conduct, has a renewed sense of urgency on the matter. The players making headlines, such as UNC defensive tackle Marvin Austin, are essentially collateral damage.
