Roses to Jarrod James
Posted Jul 21, 2010
Roses to Jarrod James, a UNC football recruit at Pikeville Aycock in Buies Creek. What's remarkable about James isn't so much that he's one of the top guard prospects in the country. He has a medical condition, brachial plexus palsy, that prevents him from lifting his right arm any higher than his ear. His inability to extend his arm may actually make him a better offensive lineman; because he can't reach out and grab a defensive player, he has to use footwork to maintain position - which is the way it's supposed to be done.
