Early Praise, Expectations


UNC boasted the top defense in the ACC a year ago, and with the core of that group returning in 2010 five of those Tar Heels -- the most of any school -- were recognized on the preseason All-ACC team the league announced Wednesday. Defensive end , defensive tackle , linebacker , cornerback and safety all helped UNC rank sixth in the nation in total defense in 2009. (Durham Herald-Sun)
