Virginia held Tyler Hansbrough in check for almost all of the second half last night but North Carolina still found the way to pull out a close victory at John Paul Jones Arena. North Carolina won 75-74 in a game that went down to a final missed shot, a misfired free throw on a one-and-one by Wayne Ellington with 2.9 seconds left. (Winston-Salem Journal)
