Bruce Carter takes winding road to showdown

At the time most of his UNC teammates were settling into their Atlanta hotel rooms Friday night, linebacker Bruce Carter was watching television at home, coming to grips with the fact that he might be in front of that same TV when the Tar Heels took on LSU a night later. But when the Tigers and Tar Heels clashed on the Georgia Dome turf, Carter was in his outside linebacker spot, making things difficult for LSU’s offense.
