UNC could hardly have chosen a more difficult opponent to play with 12 players held out in connection with an NCAA investigation. Georgia Tech's punishing triple-option attack churned out 372 rushing yards and held the ball for 35 minutes, wearing down the Tar Heels' depleted defense in a 30-24 defeat Saturday at Kenan Stadium.
