UNC safety Matt Merletti has traveled a much different path in his first 21 years than most college football players. How many have sat in the president’s chair in the Oval Office in the White House? Merletti has. How many have met not one, but three presidents? Merletti has. You see, Merletti’s father spent 24 years in the Secret Service, retiring as its director in 1998. That is why Matt has met both President Bushes and well as President Clinton.
