Tar Heels ease past Tigers


and led two late drives for UNC yesterday with hard running and quick decisions to deliver a 21-16 win over Clemson at Kenan Stadium. The last of the drives produced no points, but was the most important of the game for North Carolina. Clemson struck on a 74-yard touchdown pass to cut the difference to five points with 5:31 left, but couldn’t get the ball back until only 13 seconds remained. (Winston-Salem Journal)
