Duke knocks off host North Carolina

Round one between the top two men's basketball teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference goes to Duke. The second-ranked Blue Devils played to their strengths Wednesday night, connecting on 13 3-point shots to defeat No. 3 North Carolina, 89-78, in the Dean Smith Center. Duke won its 10th consecutive contest and, after the first cycle of ACC games, has a two-game lead over North Carolina in the league standings. (Rocky Mount Telegram)
