UNC had no choice but to kick Marvin Austin off football team

UNC did what it needed to do to cleanse its soul-kicking All-American defensive tackle Marvin Austin off the team Monday and not objecting when the NCAA ruled two other high-profile prospects permanently ineligible. The decisions came as part of an ongoing investigation into whether the players received improper benefits from agents. It was the only thing the school could do to protect its integrity.
