Carolina emphatically ended the streak, exorcising the demons with a 44-10 statement in Scott Stadium on Saturday. Fans knew all too well not to get excited early - no Tar Heel lead is safe in Charlottesville - but you had to smile when T.J. Yates hit Dwight Jones on a simple under route to start the game, and the junior wideout promptly scampered 80 yards for a score.
