Butch Davis updated the status of some injured Tar Heels somewhat, saying Zack Pianalto - who is already out for at least the regular season - had successful surgery, getting pins in his fractured fibula. Johnny White had to get an IV at halftime as he was dealing with a stomach bug most of the week leading up to Miami, but Davis said he is feeling better. Mywan Jackson had a leg injury and Da'Norris Searcy suffered a concussion.
