NFL player's gift shouldn't raise eyebrows
Posted Nov 12, 2010
UNC came out with another release on Thursday with more names and numbers. This time the university listed five people that provided "impermissible gifts of cash and jewelry and impermissible assistance" with travel and entertainment expenses. Some former Tar Heels players were among them, most notably Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. He provided $3,300 in benefits. Omar Brown gave $1,865 and Mahlon Carey gave $140.
