Tar Heels Prevail in Opener

No. 9 North Carolina let a scrappy Lipscomb squad hang around for much of Friday night’s season opener, but the Tar Heels pulled away with a 21-8 run over the final eight minutes to secure a 80-66 victory at the Smith Center. Tyler Zeller led North Carolina with 15 points and also grabbed seven rebounds, while John Henson posted 10 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks. (Inside Carolina)
