Tar Heels Prevail in Opener

No. 9 North Carolina let a scrappy Lipscomb squad hang around for much of Friday night’s season opener, but the Tar Heels pulled away with a 21-8 run over the final eight minutes to secure a 80-66 victory at the Smith Center. Tyler Zeller led North Carolina with 15 points and also grabbed seven rebounds, while John Henson posted 10 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks.
