6. North Carolina: Despite an impressive performance by backup running back Anthony Elzy, the Tar Heels were doomed by their season-high six turnovers in the loss to Virginia Tech. They’ll have to settle for a bowl game as a consolation prize this year, but even that is an accomplishment considering the off-field distractions the program has had to overcome. (ESPN.com)
