No. 8 North Carolina (2-0) will face Minnesota (3-0) in the semifinals of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Friday. UNC defeated Hofstra 107-63 in the early game while Minnesota beat Western Kentucky 95-77 in the later game on Thursday. Carolina has made the finals of three straight early-season tournaments dating back to 2008. Minnesota is 6-3 under Tubby Smith in in-season tournaments. (Tar Heel Blue)
