Minnesota topples Tar Heels

Whenever Tubby Smith's Gophers have traveled to warm places before the start of the Big Ten season, they've come home with victories that pay dividends in March. Two years ago, they knocked off nationally ranked Louisville in Arizona. And last season, they beat Butler. But Friday's 72-67 upset victory over No. 8 UNC was the sweetest in Smith's three-plus seasons.
