Butch Davis, Tom O'Brien moving in the right direction

Hired 12 days apart after the 2006 college football season, there will always be a link between N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien and North Carolina coach Butch Davis. As their teams meet today in Chapel Hill and their fourth seasons near the finish the line, both coaches said they are pleased with the progress of their respective programs. Davis (26-22 overall) has won more games than O'Brien (23-24).
