UNC falls to Vanderbilt for second straight loss

North Carolina, trying to bounce back from last year’s 17-defeat disappointment, is off to its worst start since the 2001-02 season. The No. 8 Tar Heels’ 72-65 loss to Vanderbilt in the third-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off today drops its record to 2-2; the last time they had this many losses this early: 2001-02, when the Matt Doherty-coached team dropped its first three games.
