UNC hopes to gain from pain

With one game left in a tumultuous football season, North Carolina safety Matt Merletti prefers to look at the bright side of 2010. Yes, the Tar Heels (6-5) have endured a season marked by an NCAA investigation, which ultimately cost them 14 players for at least one game and knocked them off the track for an ACC title, but the personnel turnover also gave reserves such as Merletti a chance to gain valuable experience for the 2011 season.
