Observations: Long Beach State vs. UNC

Tar Heels quarterback T.J. Yates received a huge ovation at halftime, when multiple seniors from the football team and coach Butch Davis were introduced and congratulated for receiving a bowl bid. It was a 180-degree turn for Yates, who last year was in attendance at a basketball game when his image was booed by some fans in the Smith Center crowd. (Raleigh News & Observer)
