Posted Dec 16, 2010
North Carolina added 6-foot-3, 305-pound defensive tackle Sylvester Williams, from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. Williams registered 5 sacks and 60 tackles in his 2009 season in junior college and was ranked 27th overall on Rivals’ Top JUCO 50 list. In addition to UNC, Williams took visits at Mississippi, USC and Oklahoma State before committing to the Tar Heels. The Tar Heels also got a commitment from Charlotte kicker Miller Snyder, who chose UNC over several Ivy League schools, as well as N.C. State and Wake Forest.
