With loss to Texas, UNC's rut is deeper

A ditch generally requires a tow truck, a police report, wrenching embarrassment and elaborate apologies. UNC’s defending basketball champions spent most of last season in a ditch. A rut disrupts any trip and maybe throws the front end out of alignment and sometimes causes deep anguish. The current Tar Heels found that rut again yesterday afternoon, frittering away a seven-point lead over the last mile and losing to Texas 78-76. (Winston-Salem Journal)
