North Carolina wasted little time in shaking off the cold from the Big Apple’s holiday blizzard, exploding out of the tip with a 14-2 run and never looking back against Rutgers in posting a 78-55 victory at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. Despite not practicing in eight days, the Tar Heels (9-4) showed no signs of rust in silencing the pro-Rutgers crowd almost immediately.
