It was UNC's first bowl victory since 2001 after losing three straight, including the 2008 and 2009 bowl games by a combined three points. "I've been involved in coaching in football for 37 years, and when you stand on the sidelines you get an opportunity to see an awful lot," UNC coach Butch Davis said. "This is going to be one of those games that I think ESPN Classic will be showing a 100 years from now."
