Basketball star Marcus Paige of Linn-Mar of Marion decided his heart belongs in North Carolina. Paige, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, said he plans to play for the Tar Heels. “A lot of things appealed to me,” Paige told The Des Moines Register on Saturday. “Everything kind of fell into place.” Paige earned second-team all-state honors last year. He has averaged 19 points a game this season. He was sought by some of the nation’s top programs, including Kansas and Stanford. In-state schools Iowa and Iowa State also recruited him.
