CB Sam Smiley has UNC in top 3


The 6-foot, 170-pound is down to North Carolina, Purdue and Middle Tennessee. The Times-Union Super 24 selection played quarterback this past season for Raines, but projects as a defensive back in college. Smiley has visited Purdue and North Carolina. He is scheduled to take a trip to Middle Tennessee next weekend. Smiley is a two-star recruit, according to Rivals.com and Scout.com.Picking a favorite between UNC and Purdue is proving to be a difficult task for Smiley. (Florida Times-Union)
